Beautiful vacation apartment in the historic village of Chiavenna, an open-air museum known for its natural beauties such as the Acqua Fraggia waterfalls, the Parco delle Marmitte dei Giganti and the Parco Archeologico Botanico del Paradiso, for the artistic value of its historic buildings with rich facades and the gastronomic and artisan offer. Thanks to its location, it is a popular destination in winter, as Chiavenna is only 18 km from the Valchiavenna-Madesimo / Campodolcino ski area, which offers 48.5 km of slopes and 7.2 km of ski route, and in summer, as it is 18 km from Lake Novate Mezzola and 34 km from Como. The apartment is located in the pedestrian area of the historic center: While walking in the narrow streets you can admire Palazzo Salis, the church of San Lorenzo and Palazzo Vertemate Franchi, or store in charming little stores, enjoy an aperitif in the romantic restaurants or taste the culinary specialties such as smoked bresaola, the Chiavennaschi gnocchi, the delicious local cheese, all accompanied by local wines. For sports enthusiasts there are several hiking trails in the surrounding valleys, possibility of free climbing and canyoning. Within 300 meters you will find all kinds of stores, bars, restaurants, a public swimming pool and the train station, from where you can easily reach Lake Como, Lake Novate Mezzola, Lecco and Milan. For an alternative day there is Saint Moritz with its spa 50 km away. Chiavenna is also famous for its Crotti, natural caves in the rock where wines, cured meats and cheeses were kept, from where the famous Sagra dei Crotti originates (it is usually held the first two weekends in September): You can taste or buy wines, cured meats, cheeses from the valley. The accommodation is located in an area closed to traffic, paid parking at 50 meters, public parking at 100 meters.
